About Ryan
My name is Ryan Claypole; I’m from Glen Mills, PA. I am a graduate of the University of Maryland Eastern Shore as a PGA Professional Golf Management major. I started playing golf when I was two years old, and learned from my dad and grandfather. I have been playing ever since. My golf career goal is to be at a private club within the Philadelphia Section, and to attempt to qualify for a U.S. Open. I would like to someday either become a head professional or an director of instruction. Currently, I am the Golf Services Specialist at a Golf Galaxy. Previously I was the Assistant Professional at Radnor Valley Country Club. I like the teaching aspect of golf and I believe that we don’t teach golf, we teach the game. Golf has always been a passion of mine and has turned into my career. My other hobbies include, photography and music.
I love taking photos and seeing the different perspectives on an image. I have used photography while teaching lessons. Although I have only done amateur photography, I would like to do some professional photography in my life. I have taken lessons from Elizabeth Baxter and Caroline Shorey. I have also made many connections though photography. Photography is my backup plan in case working in the golf industry doesn’t work out or if I need to change work environments. In my free time, I like to go to concerts and play a round of golf. I love music as well, I like old bluegrass, folk, Celtic, classic rock and Cape Brenton music. I used to sing with the Philadelphia Boys Choir, and know how to play the violin, guitar, percussion, clarinet, flute, cello, and bass. When I’m not golfing or going to a concert I like to spend time relaxing at home playing with my two dogs and 2 cats, or doing yard work on the farm. |
